Hatraiser TSB

While I was recently on holiday I painted another traffic signal box. This time in the heart of Brisbane City, box no. 1 (B001) no less.
This box was previously painted by Anthony Lister and then by Simon Degroot who have both since achieved artistic success, so here's hoping some of it rubs off on to me.

You can check out the original Hatraiser design here.

The Origins of Jimmy & E.C.

Jimmy & E.C. had to come from somewhere, right?

Well I've posted the first part of their origin story over at their very own blog. So now there will be no more mystery or speculation as to how Jimmy came to be demonically possessed.

Although you will have to wait for E.C.'s introduction. I haven't made that one up yet and I want to make it as silly as possible.

Go check it out at Jimmy & Emaciated Chicken.

Enviro-Super Hero

This is a commissioned piece I did recently for a guy who gave it to his wife as a birthday (update: new job, not birthday) present. She works as an environmentalist so he wanted her portrayed as an environmental super hero. The other elements he wanted included were her favourite things like her cat, Dr Seuss' The Lorax, Alice In Wonderland theme, environmental issues, etc.
Obviously when I heard "super hero" I tried to make it as comic book as possible. It was a fun pic to draw and turned out pretty well too.

Rob's Art Off To The U.S.

Finally, I can rest.
For the last couple of months I've been busily preparing enough artwork to send over to the Wonderful World Art Gallery in Culver City, California.
I've never displayed my art overseas before so it's all kind of new and exciting for me.
Here are most of the paintings and drawings I'm sending over.

Ironically, the painting I spent most of my time working on won't be included.
